Ellis Island

EMS acted as the primary consultant for the design and removal of hazardous materials, asbestos, lead paint and other contaminants. Over a decade, several million dollars of remediation was completed in order to stabilize and restore the historical structures. EMSNY successfully completed several projects including the Ferry Building, Administration Building, Hospital and Wards.

Geoprobe – Soil Investigation

A former gasoline filling station property is sampled as part of a due diligence sale transaction prior to the new owner taking title to the property. EMS provided sampling and analysis for petroleum contaminants to insure that the property was environmentally acceptable and that the tanks had been properly removed.
Lead Remediation

Lead Based Paint Remediation

EMS performed restoration design services for the lead based paint removal at the historical Ferry Building at Ellis Island. EPA trained and certified workers applied chemical stripping agents to brick surfaces to safely remove lead paint.
Contaminated Soil Removal

Soil Remedition -NWS Earl

EMS performed the design work, training and supervised the removal of contaminated soil from a munitions storage area at Weapons Station Earl for the US Navy.

Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs Construction Safety

Goldman Sachs World Headquarters 200 West Street NYC EMS was hired by Goldman Sachs and Marsh USA to provide safety and loss control services during the construction of the building. EMS provided safety support to several major general contractors, acted as a liaison between the various safety and emergency providers, coordinated their activities and provided daily safety inspections.

Mohawk Bridge

EMS assisted bridge inspection engineers and NYSDOT by providing confined space safety services. EMS sampled, entered the bridge box beams to clear hazards, and provided standby rescue during the structural inspections.
